On St. Patrick's Day

The white patches are sheep, lounging happily in their Irish countryside
Dear Ireland,

I heard so much about you before I ever met you.  I read so much about your gorgeous greenness, your rolling fields, wonderful landscapes, and friendly people and it was all true.  Pictures don't do you justice...you are more beautiful in person.  But I barely got to spend the time with you that I wanted.  I miss you. And I will, Lord willing, see you another time.

Knowing we will meet again, Jenny

Happy St. Patricks day to all!  I was excited about posting on the second half of our August '09 trip, as our last 3 days were spent in Ireland....but I just couldn't do it.  You see I have the Yicks.  What do I call the "yicks"?  It is a blending of a cold virus, gray weather outside, dampness all around, and having a usually playful little girl, now sick and feverish and trying to make her feel better when I just want to nap.

She is now napping, my head is a little clearer and I thought I would post some lovely images I tried to capture of Ireland and I will post on our trip later.

Has a lovely entry today about the heart of St. Patrick himself.

Hi Jenny, Sorry to hear you and your daughter are not feeling very well. Hope all is better soon.

I haven't been to Ireland for years and years. I was born in Northern Ireland, I left there when about 3. My mum is Irish. I have been back to the south ..

Hi Jenny!
Hope you and your little munchkin are feeling better today!
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos of Ireland with us, I hope to get there one day. I'll look forward to hearing more about your trip.
Take good care of yourself, perhaps some Earl Grey or Irish Breakfast is called for? :)
Happy Thursday,
Sally

Hello Anne, Marcia, and Sally...thank you so much for stopping by and always commenting. It is such an encouragment. Truly.

Anne, I wished we had had enough time to travel to the North of Ireland but we squeezed in what we could and did enjoy the country more than Dublin itself.

Marcia, I will be praying for Ryan to get to back to himself quickly...I haven't seen him in so long send him our love.

Sally, I have both teas! and that sounds good....is it sad to say I don't have the energy to make it though...or if I do make it I usually steep it too long (I forget) or it goes cold. Oh, well.

Hi Jenny, I hope you are feeling better today. Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog just now. It's funny because I just finished adding your blog to my "blogs I read" section and you must have been commenting at the same time! I went to Ireland once ages ago and loved it, especially the people. I'm of Irish descent and everyone there looked like one of my aunts or uncles. Luckily, I am going back at the end of May! Dublin is only about 2 hours from Paris by plane. I remember going to Glendalough and learning about St. Kevin. One of my brothers is named Kevin and I didn't know there was a Saint Kevin until I went there. Take care of yourself!

Teri! Your blog is blowing up it seems. and I mean that in the best way possible. So arty, Frenchy, lovely and fun! I do hope, of course, you make it to gorgeous Ireland and have more time to savor it then we did. Thank you for visting the blog and your kind comment!

Hello Jennifer, I just flipped out about my add to your blog roll on your blog a moment ago. We are playing blog tag evidently. And yes, the bestest thing of all about Ireland was the PEOPLE! I have part of my first post typed out and the pictures are many but the main thought I want to post on is the authentic Irish heart of the inhabitants. They are a people that rival Texans for cheer and hospitality, indeed. Happy blogging!

Hi Jenny (AGAIN! I may some day get up off of my rear end and clean the house. Maybe.)
I just came over (because I'm avoiding the housework bwahahha) to say that I read other peoples comments all the time and then check out their blogs - so if you're goofy, I'm right there with you. :)
